Tender Leaf Wooden Penguin Animal

The penguin stands bolt upright on two short feet, wings held flat against its body. It is painted black and white, with an orange beak and a white front that runs down the belly like an apron. It is one of the smaller figures in the range, so it tends to end up in a row along the edge of the table.

Tender Leaf works with reclaimed rubberwood: hevea trees that stop yielding latex after around 25 years and used to be burned. For every tree it uses, the brand says it plants a new one. The colours come from non-toxic, water-based paint and stain.
