Tender Leaf Wooden Animal Whale

The whale is one solid, streamlined piece of wood with a broad tail fluke and a small eye just behind the mouth. It is painted blue-grey with a paler underside. With its broad back it quietly becomes the island or the boat that the crab and the penguin climb onto.

Tender Leaf works with reclaimed rubberwood: hevea trees that stop yielding latex after around 25 years and used to be burned. For every tree it uses, the brand says it plants a new one. The colours come from non-toxic, water-based paint and stain.
