Tender Leaf Wooden Animal Rooster

The rooster stands upright, a red comb on its head, wattles under the beak and a tail sweeping up in a curve. It is narrower than the other farm animals, which makes it the piece most likely to topple on a soft rug. For many children the day on the farm starts here: the rooster crows, and everyone else is allowed to wake up.

Tender Leaf works with reclaimed rubberwood: hevea trees that stop yielding latex after around 25 years and used to be burned. For every tree it uses, the brand says it plants a new one. The colours come from non-toxic, water-based paint and stain.
