Tender Leaf Wooden Animal Stegosaurus

On the stegosaurus everything happens along the back: a double row of triangular plates cut from the wood and painted in a contrasting tone, with four spikes at the tail. The head hangs low, as if the animal is grazing. Most children run a finger over those plates before they even set the figure down.

Tender Leaf works with reclaimed rubberwood: hevea trees that stop yielding latex after around 25 years and used to be burned. For every tree it uses, the brand says it plants a new one. The colours come from non-toxic, water-based paint and stain.
