Iris Hantverk Broom and Dustpan Standing

The Iris Hantverk Broom and Dustpan Standing is the long-handled version: you sweep standing up, without bending down, and afterwards it simply stands in a corner instead of disappearing into a cupboard. Beechwood, horsehair and a plastic dustpan.

Horsehair is finer and softer than plastic bristles. It picks up the fine dust and crumbs that a stiff broom tends to push ahead of it, and it sweeps without scattering — sand and grit stay together too. On a wooden or poured floor it will not scratch.

Take the dust out of the brush by hand, or comb it through with an old hairbrush. If the brush loses its shape, soak it in lukewarm water, squeeze it out and let it dry — the bristles will straighten again. Wipe the dustpan with a damp cloth.

The broom comes in three colours; the version with a metal dustpan sits alongside it as a separate item. Iris Hantverk is a small company of around seventeen craftspeople who make everything by hand.
