Fenss Safetydoor Stair Gate

The Fenss Safetydoor Stair Gate is a sturdy metal gate that screws into the wall. It does not rely on pressure between the walls, and it is built extra tall.

You open it with one hand. That sounds like a detail until you are standing at the stairs with a child on one arm and a laundry basket in the other. On top of the gate there is an indicator showing whether it is really closed — no need to walk back and check.
