Breastfeeding rarely goes exactly the way you pictured it. Sometimes it is a matter of time, sometimes of one good aid at the right moment: a pump that expresses gently enough, an ointment that lets cracks heal, or simply a pad that does not stick. That is exactly what Ardo makes.
Order before 16:00 on a working day and your order goes out the same day.
Ardo is a Swiss brand devoted entirely to the breastfeeding period. Not a broad baby range, but pumps, care and the spare parts that go with them. You notice it in the details: the lanolin is ultra-pure and of medical grade, the breast shells are medical-grade silicone and transparent, so you can see how your nipple moves and how the milk flows.
What makes Ardo stand out in practice is that almost everything can be reordered separately. Membranes, valves, inserts and breast shells are wear parts, and here you can buy them individually instead of replacing a whole pump.
Have a look at all breast pumps and breastfeeding accessories as well.
This is the most important question, because the wrong size is the most common reason expressing hurts or yields too little. The size follows your nipple, not your breast.
Ardo does not ask you to measure but to notice. The size is right when your nipple moves freely in the funnel without rubbing, your areola is barely or not at all drawn in, the milk flows well, and your breast feels soft all over afterwards. If one of those four is off, the size is probably wrong.
The Melia comes with 24 mm as standard and 27 mm for anyone who needs more room. If you need less, the 17 mm silicone insert narrows the opening. When in doubt, a lactation consultant will size you up in one go.
The information on this page is general and does not replace advice from your midwife, lactation consultant or doctor.

No. The breast shells, membranes, lip valves and insert are for the Ardo Melia portable double breast pump. They do not fit the Alyssa.
With warm water and a mild soap, the breast shell is not dishwasher safe. For sterilising there are the EasyClean microwave bags, which do the job in a few minutes in the microwave.
They are wear parts. If you notice the pump losing suction, it is time to replace them. Follow Ardo's recommendation and preferably keep a spare set at home, so you are not left without a pump when one tears.
No. Ardo Care lanolin ointment is 100% ultra-pure, medical-grade lanolin and does not need to come off before your baby drinks.
Only the pack size. The large pack costs less per piece if you use pads daily.
For sore, flat or damaged nipples, or when your baby struggles to latch: a newborn or a premature baby, for instance. It is a temporary solution. Discuss its use with a lactation consultant or midwife, as the right size and a good build-up matter for your milk supply.
Yes. Membranes, lip valves, the silicone insert and the breast shells are all available separately, individually or in packs of two. Handy to keep as a spare.
